The Design Commission has approved a project by Ankrom Moisan Architects at 1638 W Burnside St. The 7 to 8 story tall building for Atlanta-based developer Wood Partners will include 138 residential units, 83 below-grade parking spaces and 209 long term bicycle parking spaces. 5,924 sq ft of ground floor commercial space is planned, with retail spaces facing W Burnside at Level 1 and SW Alder St and Level 2.

Lloyd Center Theater Addition receives Design Advice (images)
A proposed addition to east end of the Lloyd Center has gone before the Design Commission to receive Design Advice. The project is being designed by LDA Design Group of Burbank, California. It will include the renovation and remodel of the lower two floors of the anchor building currently occupied by Sears, for multi-tenant retail / office. At the third level the building will include a new 14 screen theater.

Design Commission approves Raleigh 22 (images)
The Design Commission has approved the Raleigh 22 Apartments, a 6 story mixed use building by SERA Architects for developer Cairn Pacific. The 70′ tall building will include 173 residential units, with 6,118 sq ft of ground floor commercial space along the NW Raleigh and 22nd frontages, and 1,746 sq ft of commercial space facing facing NW Quimby. Vehicular parking will be provided in an underground parking garage, which will also include long term parking for 216 bicycles.
Clay + Tiffany Apartments receive Design Advice (images)
Design Advice has been offered for the Clay + Tiffany Apartments, a 163′-9″ tall student housing tower being developed by non-profit College Housing Northwest (CHNW) in collaboration with Mainland Northwest, LLC. The sixteen story building, designed by SERA Architects, will include 252 “group living” studio apartments with shared kitchens, as well as 3 one-bedroom units and 3 two-bedroom units. A retail space is proposed at the ground level. No vehicular parking parking is proposed.
