The 9-story Portland Proper Hotel is proposed for a site at NW 13th Ave and Irving St in the Pearl District.

The University of Portland has unveiled the latest addition to its campus, the “$34M stunner” Dundon-Berchtold Hall, writes the Portland Business Journal.

The City of Portland declared that it’s on track to meet housing bond’s goals, according to the Oregonian. At a press conference it was announced that nine projects will receive funding through the bond: 115th at Division Street in Powellhurst-Gilbert; The Susan Emmons in Northwest; Anna Mann House in Kerns; Cathedral Village in Cathedral Park; The Joyce Hotel in Downtown; Las Adelitas in Cully; NE Prescott in Cully; the Stark Street Project in Glenfair; and the The Westwind in Old Town.

Portsmouth Union Church intends to build 20 units of affordable housing on their N Lombard St property.

An article published at Medium wrote about the PUC Affordable Housing Initiative at 4775 N Lombard. Portsmouth Union Church is one of 435 faith based organizations in Portland with property that could be used for affordable housing.

Portland is taking another look at low-rent SRO hotels to ease its housing problems, writes the Oregonian. While many private SRO units have been lost in recent years, the Portland Housing Bureau plans on funding the redevelopment of the Westwind Apartments in Old Town and construction of Findley Commons on SE Powell.

The Orchards of 82nd (previously known as the ROSE/APANO Affordable Mixed Use) opened in February and now houses 47 families, writes Metro News.

The KEX Portland will be located in the historic Vivian Apartments at 110 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. A building permit for the addition, seismic upgrade and change of occupancy is currently under review.

Eater Portland reports that the KEX Portland hostel at will include a restaurant, bar, and rooftop patio bar run by Iceland’s Ólafur Ágústsson, the food and beverage director Iceland’s only Michelin-starred restaurant.

Submarine Hospitality, owners of Ava Gene’s and Tusk, will open a new restaurant and two bars in The Hoxton Hotel (formerly known as the Grove Hotel).
