An article published at Medium wrote about the PUC Affordable Housing Initiative at 4775 N Lombard. Portsmouth Union Church is one of 435 faith based organizations in Portland with property that could be used for affordable housing.

Portland is taking another look at low-rent SRO hotels to ease its housing problems, writes the Oregonian. While many private SRO units have been lost in recent years, the Portland Housing Bureau plans on funding the redevelopment of the Westwind Apartments in Old Town and construction of Findley Commons on SE Powell.

The Orchards of 82nd (previously known as the ROSE/APANO Affordable Mixed Use) opened in February and now houses 47 families, writes Metro News.

Early Assistance has been requested for a project at 12044 SE Division St:

Current code info: Demolition of existing Burger King (3,929SF) and development of 2 new drive thru pads. Project will include new and reconfigured parking and associated landscaping improvements. New trash enclosure will be constructed to serve the two new restaurants. New square footages of the two new restaurants will be 2,866 SF and 2,265 SF. They will also need to adjust the property line.

Early Assistance has been requested by Merrman Barnes Architects for a project at 6144 SE Foster Rd:

Current code – Conversion of existing commercial tenant space into a 24-hour, mass homeless shelter with sleeping areas for approximately 130 people, restrooms and shower rooms, administrative spaces, a multi-purpose room, common space that doubles as a dining area and a pantry. Exterior courtyard will be used as the main entry and control point as well as providing access to the waiting area and recreational uses. This shelter to be operated by Transition Projects.

A Pre-Application Conference has been scheduled by Ankrom Moisan Architects to discuss a project at 815 W Burnside St:

A ground breaking ceremony was held for SERA Architects’ ROSE/APANO Affordable Mixed Use Development

The Business Tribune reported on the ground breaking for the ROSE/APANO Affordable Mixed Use Development at SE 82nd & Division. The building will include 48 residential units and commercial space.

Eater Portland reported that Dig A Pony co-owners have announced a new bar inside the Jupiter Hotel Expansion.

The Oregonian looked at Portland’s proposal to Amazon for its second headquarters project. Sites identified as available for development include the Post Office Site and the Ankeny Blocks.

Taller buildings in downtown Portland were called “inevitable” in a KATU report.

The first tenants for the Field Office have been announced, reports The Oregonian. The Children’s Garden and marketing agency Adpearance will move into the development, currently under construction on NW Front Ave.

Project will allow development to proceed with residential development prior to change in zoning from EG to R1 and EX. Project also includes a street vacation.

A project at 919 N Cook St has been submitted for a Type II Adjustment review by Works Progress Architecture:

Request is for an adjustment to loading standard for (1) standard a space to (1) standard b space. New core and shell, development of 4-story wood frame construction over a 2-story concrete podium/daylight baement level for workspace. Proposed wholesale or industrial service use on upper levels and proposed retail or office and parking on lower levels. Two stairs and one elevator accesses each floor. Properties in question are located at 2638 nw wilson st and 2034 nw 27th ave. There are two warehouses on the property both of which will remaiin.The property has been included in the city’s mixed employment zoning project. Applicant wishes to pursue a zone change in compliance with the comp plan that will result in the same zoning designation for the property that the city has already proposed in the ME project.
