The Design Commission has approved a proposed U-Store self storage facility at the north end of the Pearl. The six story building is being designed by MCA Architects for Hoyt Street Properties. At the ground floor the building will include 6 retail / office units, accessed from a raised dock. The five floors above will include 109,075 sq ft of storage space. As part of the development a new plaza is proposed where NW 13th Ave and Savier St will meet.

Platform Office Building Receives Design Advice (images)
An early Design Advice Request hearing has been held for Platform, a proposed 8-story office building on SE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd in the Central Eastside. The project is being designed by Allied Works Architecture for developer Project^. The building would rise to a height of 110′ to top of parapet, and include 140,000 sq ft of commercial office space, with retail uses on the ground floor. Two levels of underground parking would be provided, accessed from SE Salmon St.

Access for the parking is proposed from SW Washington. The access to the loading dock is proposed from SW Alder St. The floor area is approximately 807,000 square feet above grade and 161,000 square feet below grade. The project will be entitled in accordance with the CC 2035 amendments. Stormwater will be disposed in accordance with City of Portland Stormwater Manual.
