Drawings have been submitted to the City for an addition to the Industrial Home Building at 200 SE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. The addition by FFA Architecture & Interiors would add two new floors of approximately 5,560 sq ft over an existing parking area. 18 existing car parking spaces would remain.
The Salvation Army Industrial Home Building was built in 1893, and then expanded and remodeled in 1930 by architect Frederick Manson White. It is a contributing structure in the East Portland Grand Avenue Historic District. In 2014 the building was renovated for use as a retail store by ski and snowboard company Evo.
A Pre-Application Conference [PDF] to discuss the proposed addition is scheduled for June 16th 2015 at 8:30 AM. A Type III Historic Resource Review with hearings before the Historic Landmarks Commission is expected to be required.
